About the Artist

Beth TarkingtonView my spotlight video filmed in my studio for WSB TV!

Born in Chicago, but raised in Atlanta, I am a Georgia girl. After college art studies focusing on drawing and painting and surface design, I spent a short time as an interior designer before becoming a high school art teacher. Those were 16 contented years! Life changed and I turned my focus to become a full-time ceramic artist. Today, I am applying my painterly techniques to handbuilt forms creating one-of-a-kind pieces. I participate in juried and invitational shows and exhibitions around the country. I am surrounded by family, life-long friends, artist friends, workout friends, ex-students and my dog. It is the experiences and connections with these people (and my dog) that most forms and informs my work.
